It’s too Hot!

Has any Australian ever said that England is too hot?! And just to be clear, I’m not saying it either, but it has been hot. Up to 32°, which seems hotter than back in Oz.
Goodbye Hayling Island
We left Hayling Island and cousin Jean today. We had a wonderful week there. We arrived in glorious sunshine and 32c.

And we left in sunshine. We had one drizzly, cool day. But the Brits are made of stern stuff.

We’ve had a week of walking, drinking coffee, having num nums (treats), walking some more, talking, laughing and eating again. It’s been delightful. And we explored:

And left Jean with a final coffee…

Impressions of England
Ten days in, my impressions so far:
- Is still a green and pleasant land with rolling hills
- Saturated (imbued or rich) in history. Where else can you wander down the road and see a 2,000 year old yew tree and attend a 12th-century church for a service?
- Drivers are generally kind and polite – both to pedestrians and other drivers. We (Australians) can learn from that!
- I’m confused. Most weights and measures are metric, eg. kilograms and litres. But distance is still measured in miles (road signs miles per hour) and the car we’re driving reports miles per gallon. And fuel is sold per litre??
- People are generally friendly and happy to have a quick chat. What’s happened to that “stiff upper lip”? 🤔 Delightful!
Until next time…

Absolutely gorgeous! 🌻💕
I love the greenery at Hayling Island 💚
Good to hear the drivers are all polite there, perhaps worth a documentary for every Aussie to see 😉
