Travelling Gomezs

Geff & Jeannie's blog

‘Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless.’

It doesn’t sound very encouraging, does it? It’s from the book of Ecclesiastes. It was possibly written by, reputedly, one of the wisest people who ever lived, King Solomon.

What is this Trip about? Is it just hedonistic, seeing the country and collecting beautiful sea shells? I don’t think so. 🤔

We’ve joined the membership of the Grey Nomad club. It is only a temporary membership though, as I can’t see us continuing to do this for a long time.

It has been a long time dream of ours to have the time, health, and means to travel around this Great South Land of the Holy Spirit. We are getting to do it now. And it is an amazing country. As an added bonus, for most of the trip, so far, we’ve been able to be with our son, daughter-in-law, and 3 grandies. That’s a special time that is not likely to happen again.

But is that all? Well, no. I’m hopeful that it’s a rich time for Jeannie and me. That we get to build more into the lives of our grandies. That we can support Ryan and Haids, as well as give them a break sometimes. Also, to let them have all the time they need as a family together – without us. This is their Big Trip, too. It’s a challenging balance to achieve. In addition, my prayer is that there will be people along the way that we can have a significant interaction with – either us on them or them on us.

Towards the end of the book, Ecclesiastes 11, the author says, “However many years anyone may live, let them enjoy them all.” There is wisdom there, too.

OK, the next blog won’t be so deep. 😉

Yes I’m free for the next 4 – 6 weeks, I had a bike accident and can’t do much at all except sit around. Sunday would be good or Friday afternoon? Saturday Dave is working and I can’t drive. Would LOVE to see you! 💕 Where will you be parked?

Sounds terrific! Shall we just come to you at the caravan park? Or would you like to meet somewhere? Botanic Gardens is close to you if you’d like to meet there? We are happy to meet wherever suits you best.
You are more than welcome to come to our place too but I figure it’s much easier for you if we come to you or near you 🤷‍♀️🌟🥰🙌🏼
